It is the biggest in Europe with more than 200.000 species. Even though it can seem like a forest if seen from a distance, in fact it is intended for agricultural purposes. For that reason, the parcels or group of palm trees are called gardens. Each parcel is flanked with lines of palm trees, so that they form squares if seen from the air.
The “palmeral” (palm trees gardens), along with the religious representation dating back from the Medieval “El Misteri” and the Archeological Museum are some of the musts when visiting this city.
